ROCK SPRINGS — A segment of the Rock Springs Belt Loop will close Wednesday as construction crews start grinding work as part of a larger concrete slab replacement project.

The Wyoming Department of Transportation said the traffic signals at the Blairtown Intersection will flash red, with the road being closed from Dewar Drive to Blair Avenue through Thursday. While the road section will be closed, local access to West Center Street will remain open.

The work is part of a pavement rehabilitation job involving concrete paving, asphalt paving, milling, grinding, crack sealing, and traffic control work on approximately 4.5 miles of the South Belt Loop. The completion date for the overall work is set for Oct. 31.
