ROCK SPRINGS — The Southwest Enforcement Team executed a narcotics search warrant November 19th in Rock Springs. The raid occurred late Wednesday night at a home located at 623 6th Ave West.

The action stretched into early Thursday morning as the team encountered difficulties in getting the occupants out of the home. According to Southwest Enforcement Team Leader Ronnie Jones the occupants eventually gave up, ” We had some challenges in getting the occupants out of the house. Eventually they came out on their own. The local agencies worked together very well on it. I want to thank everyone involved including the officers from the RSPD, GRPD and Sheriff’s Office.”

Jones explained that the DCI needed assistance to execute the search warrant and in such cases the planning and execution are left in the hands of the local SWAT team. Due to the ongoing nature of the investigation details are still scarce.
