Libraries celebrating Dr. Seuss’s birthday with three Seuss-themed parties

SWEETWATER COUNTY – Get ready for three Seussical events at the libraries!

In honor of the upcoming birthday of beloved children’s author Dr. Seuss, Sweetwater County Library in Green River and Rock Springs Library and White Mountain Library in Rock Springs are all hosting Dr. Seuss parties.

The parties at White Mountain Library, 2935 Sweetwater Drive, and Rock Springs Library, 400 C Street, will both be from 1 to 3 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 27. Students in Sweetwater School District No. 1 do not have school that day, so kids can drop in on their day off and have some fun.

The party at Sweetwater County Library, 300 N. 1st East in Green River, will be from 1 to 3 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 28.

All three parties will feature games and activities designed for school-age kids surrounding Dr. Seuss stories. The libraries host the Dr. Seuss parties to help encourage reading and to help kick off Read Across America Week. Read Across America Week is an annual reading awareness campaign sponsored by the National Education Association. It encourages all children to celebrate reading on March 2, which is the birthday of Dr. Seuss.

These events are sponsored by the Sweetwater County Library System.
