Municipal Fireworks Displays Will Take Place at Ten

SWEETWATER COUNTY — Both Rock Springs and Green River will be hosting 4th of July fireworks displays tonight.

The City of Rock Springs municipal fireworks display will take place at 10 p.m. at the Wataha Recreational Complex north of Rock Springs. The event will feature an evening of fun, family, friends and fireworks! The City of Rock Springs’ Parks & Recreation Department has an enjoyable night planned for the entire family, beginning at 7 pm.

Bill Valdez and Company will provide entertainment and feature the VFW Color Guard, a pie eating contest, trivia and prizes. An assortment of “backyard games” will be available for anyone wanting to play before the fireworks. There will also be food vendors on site. To end the evening, fireworks will begin at 10 pm, sharp!

For Green River, the 4th of July Fireworks extravaganza will start around 10:00 pm and will be set off in the field across from Veterans Park. Last year a technical failure cut the Green River show short, according to a City of Green River Facebook post they expect better this year, “We all hope that it will be a great show this year! HAPPY INDEPENDENCE DAY!”

Take advantage of these great opportunities to celebrate our country!
