Rawlins Man Sentenced for Distribution of Meth

CHEYENNE – As part of program targeting the bigger criminal organizations in the state, a Rawlins man will spend almost nine years behind bars.

Vincent Maria, 31, was sentenced by Federal District Court Judge Alan B. Johnson on September 9, 2015, for conspiracy to distribute at least 500 grams of a mixture or substance containing a detectable amount of methamphetamine. Maria was arrested in Rawlins.

He received 106 months plus 21 days of imprisonment, to be followed by five years of supervised release, and was ordered to pay a $900 fine and a $100 special assessment.

This case results from an ongoing Organized Crime Drug Enforcement Task Forces (OCDETF) joint investigation conducted by the Wyoming Division of Criminal Investigation and the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration. The principal mission of the OCDETF program is to identify, disrupt and dismantle the most serious drug trafficking, weapons trafficking and money laundering organizations, and those primarily responsible for the nation’s illegal drug supply.
