RIVERTON — The blast of arctic weather that rolled across to Cowboy State during Christmas week will continue as we approach the new year.
The Wyoming Department of Transportation reports that moderate to high impact road conditions will continue along the I-80 corridor through tomorrow and most of the week.
Things take a turn for the worse on Thursday as the National Weather Service in Riverton forecasts another high wind event that will bring blowing and drifting snow, black ice conditions, poor visibility, and difficult travel along I-80 and I-25.
Travel conditions through Tuesday will be moderate, but if you’re planning to leave the area this New Year’s Day weekend, be prepared for extreme conditions over much of Wyoming through Sunday.
Here’s a look at the WYDOT Road impact Forecast for the remainder of the week.
