Ashley National Forest Restricts Motorized Vehicles from Travelling on Unsafe Ice at Flaming Gorge Reservoir

MANILA —  Unseasonably warm temperatures and deteriorating ice conditions on Flaming Gorge Reservoir has made over-the-ice motorized vehicle travel extremely unsafe.

The Ashley National Forest has restricted the use of motorized vehicles on the ice at Flaming Gorge Reservoir beginning at 8 a.m. on January 29, 2015 until further notice.

The area affected by this restriction begins at the north end of the Flaming Gorge Reservoir/National Recreation Area (Wyoming), near Whalen Bottom, south to Forest Service Road 150 (near the Pipeline) including Blacks Fork River within the National Recreation Area.

If you plan to ice fish on the Flaming Gorge Reservoir please be extremely cautious as the ice conditions are deteriorating.
