BLM Engages 700-Acre Moffat County Fire Bordering Wyoming

CRAIG, Colo. — Bureau of Land Management (BLM) firefighters are actively engaging the 700 acre fire on Middle Mountain in extreme Northwest Moffat County June 21.

The fire, which is being dubbed the West Fire, is located in Colorado along the Wyoming and Utah state borders.

The fire is burning in heavy lodgepole pine, and no structures are currently threatened; Moffat County Road 72 is currently closed.

There are five engines, one Hotshot Crew and an array of Moffat County equipment supporting the fire. The suspected cause of the fire is attributed to lighting.
