CARBON COUNTY – The Bureau of Land Management High Desert District Rawlins Field Office is fighting a wildfire on Ferris Mountain in Carbon County, which has burned an estimated 1.5 acres.
The public is urged to use caution or avoid the area since fire behavior can change and fire spread is unpredictable if high winds develop.
The cause of the wildfire is unknown. If anyone has any information please contact the BLM Fire Management Officer, Frank Keeler, at 307-352-0256.
Officials said the fire is burning in timber with grass understory. Â Initial attack firefighting resources included two BLM engines, one BLM helicopter and a helitack crew.
