UPDATE — At 10:42 a.m. employees received approval to go back to work and the Sweetwater County Commission resumed its meeting. The lockdown is over and the courthouse was cleared.
UPDATE — The building remains locked down at 10:17 a.m. The Sweetwater County Sheriff’s Office is searching the building and asks that residents stay away from the courthouse.

UPDATE — Commissioner Wendling reported that the attorney’s office and Sweetwater County Commissioners were specifically stated in the threat.
SWEETWATER COUNTY — The Sweetwater County Courthouse in Green River is currently locked down at 9:49 a.m. due to reports of a pipe bomb in the building and a shooting threat.
According to Commissioner Randy “Doc” Wendling, a call or text was made to dispatch that there is a pipe bomb in the building and for a shooting threat.
According an eyewitness report from one of SweetwaterNOW’s reporters, all community members, employees, and elected officials inside the building are being relocated to a safe location. Roll call is being taken.
