ROCK SPRINGS – The City of Rock Springs issued the following press release:
The City of Rock Springs is taking a new direction with the Urban Renewal Agency (URA), Wyoming Main Street and the Broadway Theater. The Hiring Committee determined that they would no longer hire a Theater Coordinator. Instead, the URA Manager position would be combined with the Theater Coordinator and take over the majority of those responsibilities.
After interviewing qualified candidates for this position, the City of Rock Springs is pleased to announce that Chad Banks has been selected as the new URA Manager. Mr. Banks brings a depth of talent from his years as the Public Relations and Marketing Director for the Sweetwater Events Complex. He has a Bachelor’s of Marketing Degree from the University of Wyoming and currently serves as a Board Member on the UW Alumni Association. Mr. Banks has served on the Rock Springs City Council from 2003-2008 and from 2011 until his resignation. He has been involved with many URA/Main Street events including the Wyoming Chocolate Festival, Rods and Rails Car Show, Renewal Ball and Polar Express.
We look forward to working with Mr. Banks in this new role beginning November 18, 2013. We are confident he will bring innovation and revitalization to the downtown area.
