Colorado Man in Critical Condition After Sunday Motorcycle Wreck

SWEETWATER COUNTY — According to authorities a Colorado man was flown by air ambulance from the scene of a Sunday motorcycle wreck on 191 South approximately 24 miles south of I-80 exit 99.

At approximately 11:17 am on Sunday the Wyoming Highway Patrol received the call about a motorcycle wreck on 191 south. According to authorities a Christian Motorcycle Group out of Colorado was taking a group ride up 191 South that day.

The motorcycle that crashed was the last vehicle in the group. A husband and wife were on the motorcycle which was towing a small trailer. The couple were identified as Bill and Synthia Nordyke of Canon City Colorado.

The rear tire of the motorcycle suffered a blow out causing the couple to be thrown from the vehicle. During the wreck the trailer became disconnected from the bike.

Synthia Nordyke suffered non life threatening injuries and was transported to Memorial Hospital of Sweetwater County. She was wearing a helmet.

Bill Nordyke landed in the roadway and was struck in the head by the disconnected trailer. He was flown by helicopter to University of Utah with extremely critical injuries. He was not wearing a helmet.

191 South was closed while emergency crews worked.
