SWEETWATER COUNTY – Those working the election this fall will see an increase in pay. On Tuesday, the Sweetwater County Commissioners approved a $25 increase for those working this upcoming election.
With the changes, chief election officials will increase to $210. Election judges, canvassing board, and county election board officials will increase to $185. Those interested in working the election can also earn $30 for attending the training session as well.
Mileage reimbursement follows the same process as the county and will not change.
During the discussion, Sweetwater County Clerk Dale Davis explained they have had some trouble in the past finding people interested in helping with the election and are hoping the increase helps this year.
Those interested in helping during the election are asked to call the Sweetwater County Clerk’s office for more information.
