DUTCH JOHN — Firefighters on the Memorial Fire gained the upper hand as fire behavior moderated yesterday afternoon.
Today firefighters will continue to construct hand line and work on any pockets of heat remaining in the fire area.
Firefighters Memorial Campground, Cedar Springs, and Deer Run Campgrounds are now open. Highway 191 is now open without delay.
The Memorial Fire was reported at about 2:30 p.m. on June 21st, it burned in grass and timber about three miles southwest of Dutch John Utah.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
The fire is estimated at 75 acres in size.
There are 80 firefighters assigned to the fire including 3 hand crews, 1 fuels module of 10 firefighters, 5 engines, 1 helicopter.
