MANILLA UTAH — Sheriff Jerry Jorgensen of the Daggett County Sheriff’s Office has released the name of the victim as 69 year old Charles Darrell Thomas of Riverton, Utah. The search is ongoing with divers from multiple agencies assisting.

MANILLA UTAH — Divers from Uintah County Search and Rescue, Sweetwater County Search and Rescue, and Department of Public Safety continue the search this morning for the 69 year old man missing since yesterday afternoon when his boat capsized. His 62 year old girlfriend was able to swim to shore where she then walked up the hill into a nearby camp to get help. Both the man and woman had a type 4 floatation device described by Daggett County Deputies as a type of seat cushion. Sheriff Jerry Jorgensen is not releasing the victim’s name at this time pending notification of his family.
MANILA UTAH — Daggett County Sheriff’s Office was notified at approximately 4:00 this afternoon of a capsized boat and a fisherman missing on the Flaming Gorge Reservoir. A 62 year old female was reporting the incident stating a 69 year old male was still missing. At the time of the incident there were reported wind gusts on the reservoir with choppy water making conditions difficult. The couple was in a very small boat with an electric motor. They were traveling from the Antelope Flats area headed towards Lucerne Marina at the time the boat capsized. The names of the female survivor as well as the male victim are not being released at this time.
Uintah County Search and Rescue dive team is on the scene. The Public Safety dive team has been notified and will respond in the morning to aid in the search for the missing man. State Parks, Utah Division of Wildlife Resources, and Sweetwater County Search and Rescue out of Wyoming will also be joining in the search tomorrow morning.
