GREEN RIVER — In honor of our heroes and loved ones, Flags of Honor are proudly flying in Green River this Fourth of July weekend.
The 2nd annual Green River Flags of Honor pays tribute to all military men and women, emergency first responders, and for any special individual past or present in residents’ lives. Each flag sponsored in honor or memory of someone is displayed with a card with the name of that person.
The flags are located at Thomas Moran Park, which is located next to the Green River Chamber along Flaming Gorge Way.
The opening ceremony took place Friday afternoon, in which the Green River Fire Department flew a big flag in honor of the event. Additionally, members with the American Legion Tom Whitmore Post 28 presented the colors.
The flags will be up until the morning of Tuesday, July 6. People are free to stop by throughout the weekend to check out the display.
