ROCK SPRINGS – Although no action was taken on the 1982 LaFrance Fire Truck, and it remains in the hands of Rock Springs, progress was made after Sweetwater County Commissioner John Kolb once again spoke to the Rock Springs City Council.
Kolb approached the council during the public comment portion of the meeting. He presented a memorandum of understanding that outlined a request to transfer the fire truck from the city of Rock Springs to Sweetwater County.
Kolb also told the council it appeared the best request they received was from Manilla which also patrols a part of Sweetwater County. This was also passed on to the council. There was also a $100 fee in the agreement.
Rock Springs Mayor Carl Demshar asked City Attorney Vince Crow if they could take all the paperwork provided by Kolb and put it into resolution form. Crow said he would look at what was presented and if it looked good that’s what they would do.
Demshar explained they would leave the item on the table until the next meeting and if everything looked good with legal staff, they would take action on a resolution at the next council meeting.
