GREEN RIVER — With the recent news that the first round of budget cuts for the State of Wyoming will eliminate funding for programs that serve senior citizens, Golden Hour Senior Center needs the community’s help more than ever.
On Thursday, September 17, the GHSC will be hosting a drive-through fundraiser from 4:30-7 pm. Seniors will be driving through to pick up goodie bags and an evening meal while listening to a live broadcast on KUGR 1490 AM or 104.9 FM. If you are a senior and interested in attending this event please call (307) 872-3223.
The staff of GHSC will be in the parking lot accepting donations. Community members are encouraged to drive into the parking lot and make a donation. Donations will help the GHSC to continue to provide services, to senior citizens.
During the global pandemic, GHSC has served over 20,000 meals to seniors in the Green River area. They are also providing daily activities, outreach, and opportunities to combat social isolation caused by COVID – 19.
Along with making a donation to the center, we encourage people to contact their local representatives for the State of Wyoming. Let them know that you believe funding for senior citizens programs, like the GHSC is essential.
