GREEN RIVER — Green River Officer Korey Thompson and Cpl. Debbie Tippy were recognized at Tuesday’s Green River City Council meeting for Performing Lifesaving Measures to a woman in 2017.
The two were presented with an honorary plaque, Emergency Medical Service badges and a certificate from Castle Rock Ambulance Service.
“This is a bit late in coming. That’s often the case with our profession,” GRPD Interim Chief Tom Jarvie said.
Sometimes we do great work and we leave and we don’t know how well that work turned out until later on down the road.”
Jarvie read the plaque aloud to the council:
On July 9th, 2017, Officer Korey Thompson and Cpl. Debbie Tippy responded to a residence in town where a female subject had suddenly lost consciousness.
The subject’s husband had initiated CPR. Officer Thompson and Cpl. Tippy continued CPR upon their arrival until ambulance personnel arrived.
Castle Rock Ambulance Director John Taylor has provided CPR Save certificates and pins to recognize Officer Thompson and Cpl. Tippy’s efforts.
