GREEN RIVER — The Green River City Council will have the first reading of a amendment to the city’s vehicle registration and liability coverage ordinance.
City Prosecutor Bobby Pineda and Police Chief Shaun Sturlaugson are requesting the adoption of Wyoming State Statutes 31-3-101 and 31-4-103 into the city’s municipal code. If the amendment passes, it will give the city the ability to issue citations for failure to comply with vehicle registration and liability coverage requirements and handle them in the Green River Municipal Court.
The franchise agreement between Green River and Rocky Mountain Power is still under negotiation. The second reading of an ordinance temporarily extending the current agreement will be voted on Tuesday.
The city will also approve four lease agreements for the horse corrals.
The Council meeting takes place at 7 p.m. at Green River City Hall. The meeting is open to the public and will be streamed on the city’s YouTube channel. An agenda can be found here.
