GREEN RIVER  – Wednesday morning, Wyoming’s Bureau of Land Management honored Green River’s Parks & Recreation Director Alan Wilson for his achievements as part of the Wyoming Landscape Conservation Initiative. (WLCI)

Wilson spearheaded the Green River Russian Olive and Tamarisk project along with Mr. Gale Lamb of Sweetwater Weed and Pest and Mr. Kevin Spence, of Wyoming Game & Fish; all three were honored at an WLCI Executive Committee Meeting in Rock Springs.

“These three gentlemen assumed leadership roles beyond their customary responsibilities prescribed by their employing entities,” a letter from WLCI said.“Their leadership through all aspects of this project began with the idea about issues and need, promoted their vision to others to provide the opportunity for collaboration and partnerships with developing the assessment design and treatment plan through project implementation. This approach to be inclusive and collaborative, from idea to concept through implementation, serves as an effective model for WLCI to address difficult conservation issues and landscape scales.”
