GREEN RIVER – The Green River High School Cheerleaders opened practice on Monday in a new facility. The team started practice at Monroe Intermediate School on August 15th.
Thanks to the cooperation of the Monroe Intermediate School Administrative Team, Principal Anne Marie Covey and Assistant Principal Jennifer Duran, the Green River High School Cheer Team will have a “full-sized gym” to utilize for their practices this year. Monroe will provide the gym and storage space that the Cheer Team needs to continue the strong tradition of excellence that they have established as a program.
“We are proud of the hard work and dedication that our GRHS Cheer Team puts into their program. The move to Monroe Intermediate School allows them to practice on a full-sized basketball court during the winter months as they prepare for the Wyoming High School 4A State Spirit Championships in March. I want to personally thank the district administration, building administration, teachers, office staff, and custodial staff at Monroe for allowing this transition to take place” District Athletic Director Tony Beardsley said.
