The 2020 winter sports season in Sweetwater County is just around the corner. With practices underway and game days approaching quickly, we’ve put together a preview for each team in Sweetwater County.
In preparation for the start of the season, we’ve gathered general information such as last year’s results, a few comments from the head coach and every team’s schedule.

Head Coach: Rick Carroll – 5th year as Head Coach (this time around)
2019 Results: 21-6 overall record; qualified for the state tournament

COACH’S CORNER
Q: Let’s talk a little bit about last season. What were you proud of? What did you wish went better?
Carroll: “We played very well as a team. Great team unity. We were fun to watch because we shared the ball. We played very hard.”
Q: What are your initial thoughts about this upcoming season?
Carroll: “We are really excited. Hoping for the very best in health and we really wish to see the season make it through to the state tourney. Great team chemistry. Good team speed. Great team communication. Leaders that like to play the game.”
Q: How do you compare against the competition in your conference?
Carroll: “It is going to be a very competitive season throughout 4A basketball. There are a lot of really good players in both conferences. We are going to be very competitive.”
Q: Any other thoughts you’d like to include?
Carroll: “Reminder to folks in the community that games will be shown live this year for those that can’t see the games because of COVID protocols.”
