CASPER — The Wyoming high school 4A state track and field meet took place over the weekend in Casper, with a total 16 teams in attendance.
Both Rock Springs High School (RSHS) and Green River High School (GRHS) sent teams to the three-day meet to close out the 2021 season.
The Green River girls team celebrated a state champion in Lillian Munoz who took first in the 300-meter hurdles. Munoz finished with a time of 45.71, just ahead of Thunder Basin’s Gabby Mendoza. Munoz’s victory contributed 10 team points for the Lady Wolves.

The GRHS boys team also saw success. Hayden Roberts took second in the boys high jump and third in the 300-meter hurdles. Teammate Trevor Brangham also took fourth in the boys high jump. Cole Murray also chipped in a few team points for the Wolves with a seventh-place finish in the boys discus throw.
For the Rock Springs girls team, Cali Polastro recorded the top performance for the Lady Tigers. Polastro leaped into a fifth-place finish in the girls high jump, earning the only four team points for Rock Springs.
On the boys side, the relay teams performed well, taking second in the 1600-sprint medley relay and fifth in the 4×800 meter relay. Porter Chubb also saw a seventh-place finish in the boys high jump, chipping in an additional two points for the Tigers’ team score.
