GRHS Volleyball Heads to Evanston Before Finally Returning Home

GREEN RIVER – Get ready Green River volleyball fans as the Lady Wolves will finally get a chance to play in front of the home fans this Saturday.

Green River opens the week Thursday as they travel to Evanston for a conference battle. The Lady Wolves and Lady Red Devils are currently tied for third in the conference. After the conference battle, GRHS will hit the home court as they welcom 4A East leading Laramie.

The ladies are coming off a weekend of play at the Casper Invitational. After a dramatic win in Rock Springs, the Lady Wolves have dropped several matches and looked to get back to the basics with the tournament break.

On Friday, the ladies went 1-2 with a straight-set win over Hulett, 25-10 and 25-15. They opened strong against Riverton, winning a close opening set but fell in the second and third sets. In a non-conference battle, the Lady Wolves lost to Kelly Walsh in a competive match, 25-22 and 25-18.

On Saturday, Green River opened play in the silver bracket and beat Hulett again in two, 25-10 and 25-15. In the final match, the Wolves faced 4A East squad Cheyenne Central. The Lady Wolves opened with a two-point win in the first, 25-23, but lost key points in the second to fall by the same score. Central was able to pull away in the third and deciding set to take the win, 15-6.
