Harold Giberson Pleads Guilty In Theft of Almost $180,000


CHEYENNE – A former local Union President pleaded guilty to the theft of over $170,000 in union funds in federal court.

Harold Giberson entered his plea in front of Federal District Court Judge Nancy Freudenthal on Tuesday. According to Law Enforcement Coordinator at the US Attorney’s Office Mark Trimble, Harold Giberson pleaded guilty to felony theft of union funds between 2011 and 2015 which totaled $179,052.

Giberson was President of Local Utility Workers Union of America Local 127 from 2002 until 2015. Local 127 represents workers at three PacifiCorp power plants in the state. Giberson worked at the Jim Bridger Plant.

It was reported that during the hearing Giberson told the judge he made personal charges on the union credit card and also filed false union expense reports during the four-year period.

Trimble said sentencing in the case is scheduled for February.
