SWEETWATER COUNTY — The Premier Bone and Joint Centers’ 14th Annual High School Blood Drive Challenge will once again be taking place next week between the Rock Springs and Green River communities.
Both Rock Springs and Green River residents are encouraged to show their Tigers’ and Wolves’ pride by bleeding orange or green for their schools.
According to the website www.vitalant.org, “there’s a national blood shortage due to the pandemic,” and all healthy donors are urged to donate now.
What better time is there to donate? Not only will residents be replenishing the blood shortage, but they will be supporting their school.
The following are community and high school donating schedules:
- Monday, January 24, noon to 6 p.m., Rock Springs Community Blood Drive at Bunning Station
- Tuesday, January 25, noon to 6 p.m., Green River Community Blood Drive at Green River Rec. Center
- Wednesday, January 26, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., Rock Springs High School, (School administration and students)
- Thursday, January 17, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Green River High School, (School administration and students)
Call 877-25-VITAL or log on to donors.vitalent.org to make an appointment. Appointments will be honored first, but walk-ins are also welcome. Donors will receive a free T-shirt while supplies last.
The winner of the Blood Drive Challenge will be announced at the Green River and Rock Springs basketball game on Thursday, February 3.
