ROCK SPRINGS — Ghouls, ghosts, pop culture icons and more are invited to Memorial Hospital of Sweetwater County’s annual Halloween Stroll Oct. 30.

The stroll takes from 4-6 p.m. and includes 13 different goodie-giving stations. The stroll begins in front of the hospital’s flagpole, traveling along the sidewalk to the lab and foundation doors, then loops back through the Dr. Pryich Healing Garden and ending at the flagpole.

Robin Fife, the clinical administrative assistant at MHSC, said the stroll has been an annual event for at least the last 16 years and has grown significantly since its early inception. Fife said the stroll’s early years took place on the hospital’s second floor and drew about 200 children. As more children came, the event moved to the first floor. She said COVID-19 forced the hospital to host a drive-thru stroll and once COVID-19 restrictions were lifted, she and the volunteer team organizing the event opted to host a yearly outdoor stroll that now attracts 800-1,000 children and their families.

Fife said she loves Halloween almost as much as she loves Christmas, saying she also helps plan the hospital’s annual Christmas event. Her go-to costume is a Halloween classic: a witch. She said her large witch’s hat makes her easy to spot.

“I’m always the tallest witch,” she said.
