It Begins: Commissioners Start Budget Talks Tuesday

SWEETWATER COUNTY — The Sweetwater County Board of County Commissioners has a busy meeting Tuesday as the commissioners begin budget discussions, among other business.

The commissioners will host their first budget workshop at 2:15 p.m., with the session focused on preliminary budget information from the Wyoming County Commissioners Association and input from both Sweetwater County Assessor David Divis and Sweetwater County Treasurer Mark Cowan. The commissioners also plan to discuss unspent fiscal year 2026 funds. Divis is scheduled to speak to the commissioners publicly about special districts and a legislative update prior to the workshop.

The commissioners will deal with a number of building topics during the meeting. They will vote to award feasibility studies for a Rock Springs Youth Home remodeling project and a Sweetwater County Courthouse veranda enclosure project.
