Joan Marie Lake, affectionately known as Jo, 75, passed away peacefully in her sleep at home on November 2, 2026. She was a resident of Rock Springs for the past 20 years and a former resident of Idaho.
Joan was born on April 20, 1951 in Nampa, Idaho, the daughter of John C. Lenz and Lillian B. (Smart).
She graduated from Caldwell High with the class of 1969 before having two sons Eric and Tracie Staggs.
Joan married William D. Lake in New Plymouth, Idaho on October 24, 2010.
She enjoyed spending her time with family, baking, and taking care of her two beloved puppies Sissy and Abby. Joan had a love for all animals and her heart was always open to an animal in need.
Survivors include her husband William Lake of Rock Springs; son Eric W. Staggs of Rock Springs; brothers Robert and John Lenz both of Nampa, Idaho; as well as her grandchildren Billy Staggs and Raven Staggs.
She was preceded in death by father and mother John and Lillian Lenz, as well as her son Tracie Staggs who preceded her in death in 2024.
Cremation will take place and private family services will be held.
