GREEN RIVER – Katherine “Kat” Marocki, 84, of Green River, Wyoming passed away on Thursday, August 22, 2013 at her home. A resident of Green River, Wyoming for the past ten years and former resident of Rock Springs and Pinedale, Wyoming, Mrs. Marocki had been in ill health for the past two months.
She was born on February 6, 1929 in Dawson, New Mexico, the daughter of the late John and Anna Jelaco.
Mrs. Marocki attended schools in Dines Reliance and Winton and graduated in 1943.
She married M.F. “Red” Marocki in Rock Springs, on March 6, 1948 and he preceded her in death on February 23, 2013.
She was employed as a typist for the Pinedale Roundup and also worked as a teller at City Hall in Pinedale.
Her interests were spending time with her family and friends. She was especially proud of her grandson Nicholas. Mrs. Marocki liked to fish and work in her yard.
Survivors include one daughter Lori Hastert of Green River, Wyoming; one sister Ann Bozner of Boise, Idaho; one grandson Nicholas Hastert; two step-grandchildren Matt Hastert and Mary Hastert; several nieces, nephews, sisters-in-laws and brothers-in-laws;
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Red Marocki; two sisters Mary and Frances; brothers John, Joe, Nick, Mike, George and Tony; numerous sisters-in-laws and brothers-in-laws.
Following cremation, a vigil service with rosary will be recited at 6:00 P.M. Thursday, August 29, 3013 at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, 900 Hitching Post Drive, Green River, Wyoming. Private family graveside services and inurnment will take place at a later date .
