ROCK SPRINGS — Kayci Arnoldi has been named Wyoming’s Special Education Administrator of the Year by the Wyoming School Boards Association.

Sweetwater County School District No. 1 announced the recognition earlier this week on its social media platforms. Each year the Association recognizes outstanding educators for their many contributions and services to the educational needs of Wyoming’s students.

Arnoldi began her 17-year career in the district back in 2005 as the Achieving Communication and Expanding Skills instructor at Northpark Elementary. That program is now known as the Alternative Communication Program.

She spent 10 years in that position before being hired in August 2015 as the Teacher on Special Assignment – Assistant Director of Special Services. A year later she was hired as the Director of Special Services.

The district stated “during her time in Sweetwater No.1 (Kayci) has always asked the tough questions regarding what is best for all kids? Her compassion and dedication to meeting the needs of all students and making sure each child receives a free and appropriate education is contagious.”

“She has fought uphill battles in many cases and come out championing for students. Sweetwater No. 1 is lucky to have her, and the WSBA made an excellent choice naming her the Special Education Administrator of the Year,” the statement said.
