CASPER – The hunt for a state title for the Farson-Eden Lady Pronghorns got off to a good start as they were able to shoot down theĀ Arvada-Clearmont Panthers on Thursday at the 1A Wyoming State Championships.
Led by MaizeeĀ Thoren’s 17 points, the Lady Pronghorns opened with the 54-27 win. Kenzi Reed also finished in double-figures with 12 points.
The top seed Lady Pronghorns held Arvada to two points in the first quarter to jump out to an eight-point lead. They extended it to double-figures at half, 27-14. Farson’s defense was just as good in the second half as they held the Panthers to only 13 points to take the win.
The ladies will take on St. Stephens on Friday for a spot in the championship game. The tip is scheduled for 4:30 p.m. St. Stephens beat Rock River on Thursday, 69-56.
