ROCK SPRINGS – After an exciting weekend of volleyball, the Rock Springs Lady Tigers will wrap up the regular season with two matches this week starting on Tuesday.
The Lady Tigers have enjoyed several matches in front of the home crowd but will hit the road for a non-conference matchup against Lander on Tuesday. They will finish out the regular season Friday night at home against Evanston.
The Lady Tigers enter the final week playing good volleyball. They are coming off one of their best outings of the season against fourth-ranked Natrona on Saturday. Although Rock Springs lost in five, the ladies showed strengths in all aspects of the game.
Against the Fillies, Bailee Radakovich and Taylor Jenkins had the Lady Tigers rolling early as they took an exciting first set, 27-25. A crucial second would go back and forth with both teams coming back in the set. Selena Cudney and Sarye Thomas led the charge but in the end, Natrona took the set, 29-27.
The Fillies rolled in the third, 25-16, but the Lady Tigers were not ready to go home. Senior leadership would even the match and force a fifth and deciding set. Behind strong serving by Sydney Reese and solid play by Lindsey Pearson and Morgan Doporto gave the ladies the fourth-set win, 25-20.
In the fifth set, the Fillies jumped up early and never looked back. Despite solid minutes by Bailey Johnson, the Lady Tigers fell, 15-6.
Rock Springs opened the Casper weekend with a loss to top-ranked Kelly Walsh. The Lady Trojans remained perfect in conference with the three-set win, 25-19, 25-12, 25-12.
