LARAMIE – The Lady Tigers started strong on Tuesday but fell to 4A East-leading Laramie three games to one. The match was the first of two this week for Rock Springs.
RSHS hit the road on Tuesday to face the Lady Plainsmen who are currently 4-0 and leading the East Conference. Like they have so many times this season, the Lady Tigers opened the match strong. They took down Laramie by nine points in the first set, 25-16.
The second set was crucial and both teams went toe-to-toe. The Lady Plainsmen were able to outlast the hard-fighting Lady Tigers to take the second and even the match with the 25-23 win.
Laramie continued to roll in the third to win the set, 25-16. In the final set, Rock Springs battled to the end but came up a few points short from evening the match, 25-21.
Rock Springs will be on the road again Friday as they return to conference play. The Lady Tigers will face the ladies of Jackson who are also seeking their first conference win. Jackson is 8-10 on the season.
