ROCK SPRINGS — The Rock Springs Chamber of Commerce is proud to announce the winners of the 2014 Holiday Lighted Parade! This year’s parade had over 40 floats and was enjoyed by all who attended. The five-winners will be honored with a trophy and their photo in the Chamber’s Newsletter.
Girl Scout Troops #1201 and #1655 claimed the prize for Best Youth Float, which was centered on their theme of Cowgirl Scout Christmas! Girl Scouts from both troops rode on the float and reminded the crowd that Girl Scouts are a sister to every Girl Scout.
Emmanuel Baptist Church impressed the judges with their live Nativity and will be taking home the trophy for Best Religious Float. Emmanuel Baptist Church also donated thousands of candy canes that were passed out throughout Downtown Rock Springs.
The Best Holiday Spirit Trophy will reside at Overland Elementary. Overland Elementry’s float, “Building the Future,” sponsored by Bloedorn Lumber featured a life-sized gingerbread house and plenty of cheery children and teachers!
Artistry in Motion Dance Studio claimed the trophy for Best Lighting with their, “Have a Tutu Kind of Christmas” float! This is Artistry in Motion’s second win in a row, each year in a different category.
The trophy for Best Music, goes to the 307 Bandits who featured local band Zamtrip performing Christmas Music! The 307 Bandits were part of a group of 3 floats that spanned over 400 feet.
All winners can pick-up their trophies at the Rock Springs Chamber (1897 Dewar Dr.) during business hours.
The Rock Springs Chamber wishes to thank all float entries for their hard-work and dedication to make this time-honored event a success. The amount of entries and attendees was a great reminder how wonderful of a community we have and the strength of the people in our community. Mark your calendars now for the 18th Annual Holiday Parade, December 5th, 2015 through downtown Rock Springs!
