ROCK SPRINGS– On March 21, 2019 at approximately 00:19 hours, Officers from the Rock Springs Police Department were dispatched to a suspicious drug call at 201 Gateway Boulevard (Walmart) regarding a man that was attempting to sell drugs outside of the store.
Officers arrived on scene, and made contact with a male who identified himself as David Thompson (33), of Salt Lake City.
Thompson also had a minor child with him who was identified as his step-daughter.
Upon further investigation a black pack back later identified as Thompson’s was found with numerous Ziploc bags of various sizes containing a variety of illegal narcotics.
Thompson was subsequently arrested and charged with child endangerment; unlawful possession methamphetamine, heroin and marijuana with intent to deliver; felony possession of methamphetamine, heroin and marijuana (greater than 3 ounces); 2 counts unlawful manufacture/delivery of pill form (greater than 3 grams); 2 counts possession Pill or capsule (greater than 3 grams). Thompson was also issued 3 citations for Possession of Pill or Capsule form (less than 3 grams). The investigation is ongoing.
The RSPD reminds the community that all persons are presumed innocent until proven guilty.
