ROCK SPRINGS — This Monday, the employed physicians of Memorial Hospital of Sweetwater County will begin seeing patients at their new location on the campus of the hospital. This comes as the first phase of their Medical Office Building/Cancer Treatment Center project has been completed. Phase 1 includes the 1st and 2nd floors of the 80,000 square foot MOB that is the new home of the Family Practice, Internal Medicine, Pediatrics, Psychiatry, Pulmonology, Orthopedics, Obstetrics & Women’s Health, Addiction Medicine, ENT-Otolaryngology, and Nephrology clinics of Memorial Hospital.
Jerry Klein, CEO of Memorial Hospital says, “It took a lot of work from our staff and others to move their operations into the new Medical Office Building over the weekend and to get ready to see patients on Monday. I applaud their effort and we thank the public for your patience during the transition.”
Phase 2 of the MOB project, scheduled to be completed between March and April 2014, will include the full- service Cancer Treatment Center on the lower level and then the 3rd floor, containing the 8-chair Dialysis unit and some other local physician offices.
Gary Collins, PR & Marketing Director of Memorial Hospital says, “We have been looking forward to getting all of our services here on one campus. That allows our patients to see their providers at the medical office building and just walk down the hallway to the laboratory or medical imaging department if they need to have some tests done. It is more convenient for our patients and visitors as they won’t have to drive to a separate facility.”
