ROCK SPRINGS – A new hair salon on Dewar Drive was one of three minor site plan updates given at the most recently Rock Springs Planning and Zoning meeting.
Due to the size and scope of certain projects, the city categorizes them as minor site plans. These projects only need staff approval but updates on all of these smaller projects are given at each Rock Springs Planning and Zoning meeting.
At the most recent meeting, Rock Springs Assistant City Planner Denise Boudreault gave the commission updates on three of these projects.
One of these is a new hair salon on Dewar Drive. The application was submitted by Cathy Chavez representing Hairology. It will be a new business in an existing building at 702 Dewar Drive. Boudreault said it will be located in what many residents may remember as Gary’s Golf Shop.
The second update involved Red Horse Oil Properties located at 1629 Elk St. The application was submitted by Jay Schneiders of RHO Properties represented by JFC Engineers and Surveyors.
The project is to replace an existing damaged fuel canopy with a new 58’ x 56’ fuel canopy. Phase one of the project also includes four new pumps and two new fuel tanks.
The final minor site plan update came from Questar Gas. The plan is to construct a new 20’ x 20’ pre-fabricated steel building with regulator piping. It will replace an existing building and piping located at the facility on New Hampshire.
