AFTON – An arrest has been made in a Sunday shooting in Afton. The shooting left one dead and one injured.
According to the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office in the early morning of Dec. 21, deputies of the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office responded to a call of a reported shooting at an apartment above a business located at 486 Washington St. in Afton. Officers on scene found that two victims had been shot with a semi-automatic handgun. One of the victims was found deceased and the other injured.
The suspect, Wade Richard Farrow, 26, of Afton, was taken into custody at the scene.
Tony Hansen, 22, of Afton, was pronounced dead at the scene. Melanie Pumphrey, 21, of Alpine, was transported to Star Valley Medical Center were she was treated for a gunshot and released.
The Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office said the investigation into the incident is ongoing and being conducted by the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office and the Afton Police Department.
