The following is an excerpt from a press release about the group and their debut album.
Patti Lee Ministries formed a new band called Paskel, who has just released their debut album entitled “Gonna Get Through This.”
Paskel is a family group that includes: Del, Patti Lee, Kasi, and Kyle Hessling. The Hesslings (Paskel) are associate artists with World Vision, which is an International Christian company that provides hunger relief and crisis intervention around the world. Paskel also does work with youth organizations, fairs, seminars, and churches.
The songs for the new album were all written by Patti Lee Hessling who originally traveled with her husband Del as a solo performer and played with other groups. Now that their kids are coming of age, they have formed the new band.
Patti still does most of the writing, sings and plays rhythm guitar. Their daughter, Kasi, now does a great deal of the singing and plays violin and drums. Kyle, is now joining them to play lead guitar and some percussion as well.
Patti’s husband, Del, mixes sound, does website production, photography, videography, and usually drives the group when they are on the road. The family has lived in the Fremont County area since Patti and Del were married in 1988. They all enjoy the mountains, horses, and the small town lifestyle.
The new CD has a folksy rock feel, but is fairly eclectic in style. The songs were written from life and experience, and some are dedicated to friends in the area. Patti wrote many of the songs to bring hope to people experiencing hard times, as these last few years have been hard on many people, including the Hesslings. That is why the title of the new CD isGonna Get Through This.
Playing music and being involved in ministry as a family is a real privilege for the Hesslings, and they definitely enjoy it. Trying to do all that and still be a somewhat normal family is even more challenging, but they are excited about how things are coming together. The new album is available on line at CD Baby, Amazon, and I-tunes. Information about this musical family, as well as World Vision and Child sponsorship, can also be found via the web at pattileeminstries.com.
