ROCK SPRINGS — 21st Century Learning Community Center funded a five-week long Summer STEM program for Eastside Elementary School students in Sweetwater County School District No. 1 this summer.
STEM is an educational approach to learning that uses Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Mathematics as access points for guiding student inquiry, dialogue, and critical thinking.
Summer learning activities included robotics, solar ovens, using 3D pens, building rockets, and much more.
The teachers for this program were Kalista Pendleton, Mandy Sewell and Michael Moore. The teachers would like to have another STEM program next summer.
