GREEN RIVER — This past weekend’s 29th Green River Pond and Garden Tour was a huge success with more than 300 residents touring the gardens and looking at the water features.

“This year’s tour was one amazing event. All garden homes gave the visitors different views on backyard ponding, vegetable gardens, chickens, bee hives, and secret gardens. There was so much to see and I continuously received positive comments,” GR Pond and Garden Tour organizer Lyneen Murphy said.

Not only did residents have the opportunity to stroll through gardens and ponds, but they had the chance to visit with master gardeners, who were on hand to answer any questions.

“I wanted to thank all garden home owners for opening their gates for this year’s tour,” Murphy said.

Every year the tour is hosted, a raffle takes place to raise money for a project or cause. This year the group raised enough funds to purchase a tree and memory plaque for Wiley and Toni Morgan, which will be placed on Uinta Drive. All remaining monies will be donated to the Golden Hour Senior Center in Green River, Murphy said.

“I am so proud of our community and those who continue to support this unique event,” Murphy said.
