The Wyoming Department of Transportation (WYDOT) is continuing to work on clearing all roads impacted by this week’s snow storm.
Most of Interstate 80, I25 and I90 remain closed this morning, after a snow storm blanketed the majority of the state. According to a WYDOT District 1 Southeast Wyoming social media post, “Crews have been out all night and are out this morning working diligently to open the roads.”
The crews are working in windy conditions to try and reopen Wyoming. Traffic is backing up on Interstate 80 eastbound past milepost 104 near Rock Springs and a lot of travelers are waiting near Evanston for I80 eastbound to open.
Current road closures in this area are:
✶ I80 from Exit 111, Airport and Baxter Roads to Rawlins is closed BOTH DIRECTIONS due to winter conditions.
✶ I80 EASTBOUND from Evanston to Exit 111, near Rock Springs is closed due to a rolling closure.
✶ I80 from Rawlins to Cheyenne is closed BOTH DIRECTIONS due to winter conditions.
✶ WYO 430 also remains closed BOTH DIRECTIONS.
According to the latest information from WYDOT, as of 8 a.m. October 13, the estimated opening time for all of I80 to be reopened is 7-9 hours. So for now, the wait continues. For WYO 430, no estimated opening time was given.
