Plane Dropping Candy at Event in Star Valley Crashes Killing Two

AFTON – Two Star Valley residents were killed on Tuesday when a plane they were in crashed in a local neighborhood. It was reported the plane was dropping candy at a local event.

According to the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office on July 21 at approximately 6:48 p.m. there was a small passenger airplane accident in the Auburn area.

Investigators reported Bard Lefevre, 22, of Grover,  and Chad Burton, 64, of Auburn, were both pronounced dead at the scene of the accident. The cause of accident is unknown at this time.

Officials said the FAA was notified and investigators from National Transportation Safety Board are en route to the scene to start investigating what caused the accident.

Investigators reported they were informed the aircraft was doing a candy drop and an event in the Auburn area before the accident occurred. Lincoln County Sheriff Officials said despite the accident occurring in the close vicinity of homes, there were no other injuries reported.
