SWEETWATER COUNTY — Sweetwater County Public Health has started a Kindness project sponsored by local businesses to help the community recover and reconnect from the difficulties experienced the last the two years.
“Sweetwater County is a place where neighbors help neighbors and the entire community rallies together to help when one of our own is in need,” Public Health Response Coordinator Ronda Zancanella said. “In the past two years, the world has faced change and strife that has created disconnect. We are ready to take back our connections.”
The Sweetwater County District Board of Health is asking residents to join us them in sharing random acts of kindness and get a gift or two along the way.
In honor of May being Mental Health Awareness Month, the district invites everyone in the community to participate in its Kindness Blackout Bingo game.
“Evidence shows that helping others can have a positive effect on your own mental health and wellbeing,” states a comment from the District. “An act of kindness can decrease stress, boost happiness, lower blood pressure, release feel-good chemicals and inspire more kindness!”
Bingo forms can be picked up at Public Health, Rock Springs & Green River Chamber of Commerce, Rock Springs & Green River City Hall, the County Courthouse, and Commerce Bank.
