GREEN RIVER – A handful of Green River Track and Field athletes made their way to Utah this past weekend to compete in the 20th annual Taylorsville Invitational. Braden Reichl and Hunter Spartz both brought home top-five finishes for Green River.
Spartz just missed titles in the shot and discus coming home second in both events. In the discus, Spartz’s throw of 143-00 was just behind the top throw of 149-09 by Riverton, Utah’s Caleb Rogers.
In the shot put, Spartz was less than three feet off the top throw with a 47-08.50. It was Rogers again with the win at 50-04.25.
Reichl continued his strong outdoor campaign with a second and fourth-place finish. In the 1600 meters, Reichl brought home his highest finish of the meet. His time of 4:21.14 was one second off the top time set by Herriman’s Adam Wood. In the 800 meters, Reichl finished fourth with a time of 1:59.86.

The Wolves and Lady Wolves will be at home this Friday as they host the Green River Invitational. Scheduled to take part in the meet include Rock Springs, Evanston, Lander, Pinedale, Mountain View, Lyman, Big Piney, Kemmerer, Farson-Eden and Encampment. On Saturday, Green River will have several athletes in Riverton while others will travel to Utah.
