
GREEN RIVER – Robert Alan Jessop, 66, of Green River, Wyoming passed away on Tuesday, February 4, 2014 at the Deseret Health and Rehab in Rock Springs, Wyoming. Mr. Jessop had been a life long resident of Green River, Wyoming and passed away following an illness spanning five years.
He was born on May 14, 1947 in Green River, Wyoming, the son of the late Alfred and Ivy Stokes Jessop.
Mr. Jessop attended schools in Green River, Wyoming and was a 1965 graduate of the Green River High School. He served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War and was awarded the Purple Heart.
He married the former Kathleen Bersch in Green River, Wyoming on June 2, 1973.
Mr. Jessop was employed at various places throughout the Green River area. He was employed at Stauffer Chemical, Sweetwater County Parks and Recreation, Assistant Manager at the Airport and engineer for the Union Pacific Railroad.
He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.
His interests included hunting and fishing and spending time with his family and friends.
Survivors include his wife Kathleen Jessop of Green River, Wyoming; one son Ryan Jessop and wife Leslie of Green River, Wyoming; one daughter Starla Halladay and husband John of Farson, Wyoming; three grandchildren Garrett, Codi and Klaine; several cousins, nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother David Jessop.
Cremation will take place and at his request there will be no services.
