BUFFALO, WY — Roughly 350 firefighters continue to battle the Robinson Fire, which is now at 1,038 acres with about 29 percent containment.
According to the latest report from the Rocky Mountain Incident Management Team (RMIMT), the lightning-caused fire, which started on June 8, is located about 20 miles south of Buffalo.
The RMIMT stated the fire now stands at 1,038 aces; however some burn operations have contributed to the increase in size.
Fire crews will continue to battle the fire without much help from the weather. In fact, a Red Flag warning is in place from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. due to minimum relative humidity near 11 percent, much higher temperatures near 90, and sustained 20 mph winds from the west/southwest with gusting up to 30 mph.

Yesterday evening, firefighters continued strategic burning operations, using aerial ignition to burn pockets of remaining fuel on the northwestern perimeter of the fire in Division Z.
A multi-mission aircraft (MMA) flew the fire. In Divisions Y and A, firefighters are patrolling for hot spots and mopping up. Structure assessments are being conducted in Dull Knife and are complete in the Billy Creek, Poison Creek, and Bull Creek areas. No structures have been damaged.
Today, firefighters are working to increase containment across the fire. They are continuing to patrol and extinguish hot spots. The structure group is continuing property assessments in Dull Knife.
