Rock Springs City Council Reviews Budget Revision to Pay For COVID-19 Supplies

ROCK SPRINGS — The Rock Springs City Council will host its regular meeting on Tuesday, April 21, at 7 pm.

The meeting will take place in the Council Chambers at City Hall, at 212 D Street, however due to the COVID-19 Coronavirus recommendations, the city will be asking the public to provide comments prior to the meeting.

Residents who would like to provide comments on any April 21 agenda item are encouraged to email them to: [email protected]. Comments should be submitted no later than 5 pm, April 21.

During the April 21 meeting, the Council will approve the minutes of the last regular meeting, which took place on April 7.

One item of interest, under resolutions, is a request to complete a budget revision for fiscal year ending June 30, 2020, for COVID-19 funding purposes. If approved, the city will transfer $150,000 from Fund Balance to the newly created ledger account COVID-19 supplies.

The Council will open and review vehicle bids for the Rock Springs Water Reclamation Facility.

For appointments, the Council will look at appointing Mike Shaw to the Board of Adjustment.

Under new business, the Council will review a Rock Springs Police Department request to apply for the Coronavirus Emergency Supplemental Funding Program grant. Any funds awarded would be used to prevent, prepare for, and respond to the Coronavirus.

A request from the RSPD to sell portable radios to the Sweetwater County Sheriff’s Office is also up for review.

Numerous resolutions are on the Council’s agenda, including one to accept and approve the 2020-2022 collective labor agreement with the Firefighters Local 1499 I.A.F.F.
